Mileage Run - Jan 2026 - Chapter 06
The day begins with a leisurely breakfast at the Serai Restaurant. Whenever I ask about the Executive Lounge, the answers are somewhat evasive. Yesterday’s Happy Hour also took place in the atrium, which makes me suspect that there currently isn’t a lounge at all. Interestingly, the Diamond welcome letter explicitly states that Happy Hour is only held in the atrium if the lounge is unavailable. A bit odd.
Well fueled, I order a Careem taxi to the Citadel. The photos show:

From there, I continue on to Amman’s old town. The hectic, noisy atmosphere is definitely something you have to enjoy to appreciate.
A stop at Hashem Restaurant—famous for its falafel and hummus—in the middle of the bustling downtown area is, of course, a must.
On the way to the Roman Theatre, I also stop by the King Hussein Mosque.
Up close, the Roman Theatre feels even larger than it already looked from the Citadel hill.
On the way back to the hotel, I make one more stop at the King Abdullah I Mosque, better known as the Blue Mosque. A prayer is taking place inside at the time, so I limit my visit to the exterior. I’m sure I’ll be back another time.
Tomorrow, the journey continues via CAI to DXB.
